Yun-hua Lu (ユンファ・ルー, Yunfa Rū^?) (Spelled as Yunhua Lu in the anime) is a member of Group B-5.

Appearance

Yun-hua has a fair complexion with long violet hair tied down with pigtails and that covers her eyes. She wears glasses to prevent her hair from getting into her eyes. She wears oval glasses and has a mole below right of her lips. Her spacesuit is mostly purple, light purple, and light blue with bright blue outlines on it.

After she gets a haircut, her hair is now in a short bob cut with a braid in it. She no longer wears glasses as well.

Personality

Yun-hua has a generally meek and quiet personality. She was ordered by her mother to never stand out, so she attempts to make herself as unobtrusive as possible, and has very low self-esteem. However, after the events on the second planet, she has started to open herself up more to other people.

Plot

In 2163 A.D., Yun-hua gathers at Mousanish Spaceport along with the other members of Group B-5 except for Aries Spring and Kanata Hoshijima, the former who joins them shortly afterward and introduces herself. The teacher then introduces Quitterie Raffaelli and her younger sister Funicia Raffaelli who will be joining them as part of a unique task to take care of and teach a younger child. Once Kanata has finally arrived, the group then boards a spaceship to begin their four-hour journey to Planet McPa. They exit the spaceship and walk around for a bit when Luca Esposito points out a strange globe that's been approaching them. They try to run away from it, but the strange globe is able to absorb and send them all into outer space.

They are able to find a nearby spaceship and upon collecting their luggage, they are able to board it safely. When Kanata asks if everyone is here and if they're hurt, Zack Walker says that there is one person missing. Ulgar Zweig looks outside and sees that Aries is still floating outside, with her thrusters and communications unable to work. Kanata volunteers to go out and rescue Aries while the rest of the group watch over the cord tying him to the ship. He is able to successfully grab Aries and bring her back to the ship where she thanks him repeatedly. As the group wonders how they can get out of their situation, Zack is working on the ship's coordinates and finds some disturbing information. He says that they are no longer above Plane McPa and that they are 5,012 light-years away from their original location. The group could do nothing but react with shock at this news.

Skills

Singing - Yun-hua has been a talented singer since she was little, having been taught by her mother, who is a famous singer. Her singing helped provide comfort for the team when they were suffering the effects of poison from the mushrooms on Shummoor.

Relationships

Wei Lu

Yun-hua always looked up to her mother, wanting to sing like her. Wei, however, told her not to stand out, saying she would only mess up, leading to Yun-hua's insecurities.

Kanata Hoshijima

Kanata is the first person Yun-hua was able to open up to, and he encourages her to pursue her dreams despite what her mother said.

Aries Spring

Aries quickly starts trying to befriend Yun-hua, though it took awhile for her attempts to go anywhere. Once Yun-hua starts opening up more, they quickly become good friends. Years later, Aries attends Yun-hua's concert alongside Luca and Quitterie.

Quitterie Raffaeli

Quitterie found Yun-hua's tendency to apologize so much annoying at first, but they end up becoming good friends later. She attends Yun-hua's concert along with Aries and Luca, and tries to go backstage to see her before the show.

Luca Esposito

While Luca teased her sometimes at first and contributed to her running away, they don't seem to have any hard feelings afterwards, as she was comfortable enough to ask him to cut her hair. By the end of the series, they seem to be good friends, and Luca attends her concert along with Aries and Quitterie.

Charce Lacroix

Yun-Hua and Charce seem to get along well. While Yun-Hua was still hesitant to approach the group after introducing herself, she did so after Charce called her over. She also seems to be talking to him after everyone recovered from the poison on Shummoor.

Trivia

• Yun-hua's name is comprised of the Chinese name elements "Yun", which could mean "cloud" (云) or "allow, consent" (允) and "Hua", meaning either "splendid, illustrious, prosper" (华) or "flower, blossom" (花). Her surname, Lu, means "musical note" (吕).
