Rei Hoshijima (レイ・ホシジマ Rei Hoshijima?) is the father of Kanata Hoshijima.
Appearance[]
Rei has spiky black hair and brown eyes. In his initial appearance, he wore a black v-neck dress shirt.
Personality[]
Rei is a cold and ambition-driven man. Even though he raised Kanata, he was never a father figure to him.

Rei was a great athlete in his youth, but after an accident he had to quit his dream.
Plot[]
Rei Hoshijima is one of a group of people who carried out illegal cloning of themselves. He did so to have his memories moved to a younger body so that he could resume being an athlete without the hindrance of an injury. After the Genome Control Act was passed, he and his group came up with an idea to get rid of their clones in order not to get caught and arrested. They put all the clones in the same class and sent them on a camping trip to another planet, McPa. There they would be killed off by the King's clone via a wormhole portal. The portal would transport them 5,012 lightyears away from Astra to planet Earth. He and the others believed they were in the clear because the police didn't want to continue the search, and they did not know their children had survived, and were merely lost in space.

Rei is Kanata's Original. Even though he raised Kanata as his son, he kept him at arm's length, never showing him any love or affection, and only constantly training him to follow in his footsteps as an athlete. The only time he was ever concerned about Kanata's life was when Kanata got lost on a camping trip for a few days. This is because if he had lost Kanata he would lose his future youth.
