Luca Esposito (ルカ・エスポジト Ruka Esupojito?) is a member of Group B-5. He likes taking a lot of pictures on their trip and is trying to get into an art school.
Appearance[]
Luca has pale skin with lavender shoulder-length hair and grey eyes. His crust suit, made by SMB and designed as a general-fit bodysuit, is mostly neon-green and blue with yellow outlines on it.
Personality[]
An artistic person by nature, Luca enjoys working with his hands, and serves as Group B-5's craftsman on their journey home, creating a lance and a bow and arrows on the planets Vilavurs and Arispade, respectively. He claims to dislike children, a detail he voiced at Mousanish Spaceport when he asked why a ten-year-old girl was joining their group, although her presence seems to grow on him as the trip elapses. He also has a penchant for curiosity, to the point of wanting to examine something that catches his eye, despite not knowing what it is; as a result of this, he is the first one to be pulled through the orb on McPa, having walked up to it and touched it of his own volition. As Kanata once notes, he's also good at making friends without making a big deal about it.
Plot[]
In 2163 A.D., Luca gathers at Mousanish Spaceport along with the other members of Group B-5 except for Aries Spring and Kanata Hoshijima, the former who joins them shortly afterward and introduces herself. The teacher then introduces Quitterie Raffaelli and her younger sister Funicia Raffaelli who will be joining them as part of a unique task to take care of and teach a younger child. However, Luca voices his objection and says he does not like kids. Funicia then takes out her puppet and begins to badmouth him much to his surprise. Once Kanata has finally arrived, the group then boards their spaceship to begin their four-hour journey to Planet McPa. Upon landing, they exit the spaceship and walk around for a bit when Luca points out a strange globe that's been approaching them, calling the group's attention to it. He walks up to and touches it only to get sucked in by it and sent into outer space.
They are able to find a nearby spaceship and upon collecting their luggage, they are able to board it safely. When they learn that Aries is still floating outside, with her thrusters and communications unable to work, and Kanata volunteers to go out and rescue her, Luca and the others watch over the cord tying him to the ship.
He's shocked when they learn that they are no longer above Planet McPa and that they are 5,012 light-years away from their original location.
On the third planet, Ulgar reacts with shock after Luca reveals to him that he is the adopted son of the politician Marco Esposito. Later, Ulgar threatens to kill Luca with a gun, in order to get revenge on Marco Esposito for killing his beloved older brother. Luca reveals to Ulgar that his father doesn't love him, because Luca is both intersex and adopted. Ulgar then gives up trying to kill Luca, but a giant tidal wave comes crashing in and sweeps them away. Luca tries to hold on to Ulgar to prevent him from drowning, but Ulgar tries to get him to let go. Luckily, they are found by the other members of the ship and rescued.
When they get back on the ship, Ulgar apologizes to Luca, who uses the opportunity to tease him.
Skills[]
Art skills - Luca has a wide variety of miscellaneous skills that are useful on the ship. He drew the map of the Astra, cuts everyone's hair, and fixed a hair clip for Funicia. He also has a glue gun that he used to fix ruptures in the ship.
Relationships[]
Marco Esposito[]
After finding out that Luca isn't completely male, Marco neglected him and they aren't on good terms with each other.
Riccardo Esposito[]
Not much is known about Luca's relationship with his brother, but given their relationship with their parents and Luca stating he isn't good with children, it seems likely they don't get along well.
Kanata Hoshijima[]
When Kanata first talked about being captain, Luca was one of the hardest on him, but over time he came to admire him. Kanata also sees Luca as a very capable individual.
Aries Spring[]
Luca and Aries are on good terms. They have mutual respect and trust for each other, and an overall good friendship. However, most of their interactions are in front of other people.
Quitterie Raffaeli[]
Funicia Raffaeli[]
When he first found out Funicia was going to be in their group, Luca wasn't happy about it because he doesn't like kids, but she seems to have grown on him quickly. They get along well and Luca helped her make the flower she found into a hair accessory.
Zack Walker[]
Luca has been known to tease Zack about being the team "mom" or use excessively respectful terms in a playful manner, with Zack being annoyed by the former.
Charce Lacroix[]
Yun-hua Lu[]
Earlier on, Luca is a bit rough on Yun-hua, teasing her and such. He likely didn't mean anything by it, though, as he felt guilty when she ran away. After the event, they seem to be on better terms. Luca praises her singing, and when she asks him to cut her hair for her, he happily does so. Years later, he attends one of her concerts along with Aries and Quitterie.
Ulgar Zweig[]
Luca seems to be one of the first people Ulgar warmed up to, though he was still pretty distant from him at first. After finding out Luca was Marco Esposito's son, though, Ulgar wanted to kill him for revenge until Luca made it clear that their situations were more similar than Ulgar had thought, as neither of them had been loved by their parents. After this, Luca tends to tease Ulgar about the situation and they become close. How close they are is also shown when Luca reveals that Ulgar crashed at his place after the seven year timeskip.

- Luca is the Italian form of Lucas, a Latin name derived from the Greek name Λουκᾶς, meaning "from Lucania". Esposito is an Italian surname that means "exposed".
- Luca is incorrectly stated as being 5'9" instead of 5'4" on his English character profile. His correct height is stated in the height chart and on the official website.
