Charce Lacroix

Charce Lacroix (シャルス・ラクロワ, Sharusu Rakurowa) is a member of Group B-5 and the main antagonist of the story.

Appearance

Charce has pale skin with blonde wavy hair and blue eyes. His spacesuit is mostly white, purple, and light blue with yellow outlines on it.

Personality

Charce has a refreshing personality. He loves aliens to an extreme degree and gets incredibly excited over them. He is generally a very friendly person.

However, under that he feels as though he himself is worthless. In order to follow through with orders, he is willing to kill himself, although he has always had a longing to go outside of the cage of Vixia that he was raised in.

Plot

In 2063 A.D., Charce gathers at Mousanish Spaceport along with the other members of Group B-5 except for Aries Spring and Kanata Hoshijima, the former who joins them shortly afterwards and introduces herself. The teacher then introduces Quitterie Raffaelli and her younger sister Funicia Raffaelli who will be joining them as part of a unique task to take care of and teach a younger child. When Luca Esposito voices his objection to the task, Funicia takes out her puppet Beego and begins to badmouth him. As Luca wonders how she can do a shift in tone, Charce shows knowledge about the toy and its functions. When the last member, Kanata arrives and proclaims himself as the leader of the group, Charce is the first one to question his statement and that it would be determined by a vote on their first night of their stay. The group then boards the spaceship to begin their four-hour journey to Planet McPa. Once they are able to move freely around on the cabin, Charce comments that he cannot relax until he's changed into his bathrobe. Upon landing, they exit the spaceship and walks around for a bit when Luca points out a strange globe that's been approaching them. They try to run away from it, but the strange globe is able to absorb and send them all into outer space.

They are able to find a nearby spaceship and upon collecting their luggage, they are able to board it safely. When Kanata asks if everyone is here and if they're hurt, Zack Walker says that there is one person missing. Ulgar Zweig looks out the window and sees that Aries is still floating outside, her thrusters and communications unable to work. Kanata volunteers to go out and rescue Aries while the rest of the group watch over the cord tying him to the ship. He is able to successfully grab Aries and bring her back to the ship where she thanks him repeatedly. As the group wonders how they can get out of their situation, Zack is working on the ship's coordinates and finds some disturbing information. He says that they are no longer above Plane McPa and that they are 5,012 light-years away from their original location. The group could do nothing but react with shock at this news.

Charce exhibits a major knowledge of bioscience and biological sciences (including ecology, biochemistry, genetics, zoology, and botany). He is well-versed in the science that studies life and living organisms, their structure, growth, functioning, reproduction, origin, evolution, distribution, as well as their relationships with the environment and with each other. He uses his knowledge to cook for B-5.
